I have been riding motorcycles for about four years now. I started out as a passenger on my fiance’s motorcycle and eventually got my own. I have not found that riding upsets my indeterminate colitis. Now, I definitely don’t go riding while I’m flaring or not really feeling all that well. I don’t recommend that at all! Not something that you really want to have to worry about when you’re on a motorcycle!
If you are worried about riding while having IBD there are a few things that you can do to try and be ready for any situation. You could carry an emergency kit with you just in case something happens and you’re not around a toilet. Here are a few things I keep in my emergency kit:
I also pretty much always have Imodium on me but it’s not normally something I take with me while riding. Like I said, I don’t normally ride my motorcycle when I’m not feeling well. I don’t have to depend on it to take me to work or anything, fortunately. I ride for fun when I can.
I hope everyone has a good week! Safe travels!

Here are the three things I’m looking forward too this summer:
Riding my Motorcycle
I have a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 650 that I got last summer. I’m looking forward to riding it more this year. I’m also looking forward to trying out my new motorcycle boots once the hot weather is there. I hate having hot feet when I ride my motorcycle and the new boots I have are made out of perforated leather. I’m hoping that they make a big difference.
I really want to go camping more this summer. Me and my fiance did not make it camping last summer which bummed me out a little bit. We also got a canoe recently and I’m looking forward to taking that camping. It’ll be fun to take that out on the rivers and lakes here in Southern Oregon.
I’m going to be making a raised garden bed this year. I’m really looking forward to that. It’ll be nice to grow some of my own food!
WEGO Health: Write about moments you feel like you can take on the world. Where, when, and how often does this happen?
There are times when I feel best skiing. I feel like I can handle anything and do anything. I haven’t felt that way in a while though while skiing. The resort out here is a lot tougher than the old one I skied at. It’s also as a much higher elevation and I struggle with that too.
There’s also times that I feel pretty awesome on my motorcycle. Once I get my sea legs back under me, that is. I’m still a pretty new rider. But I do love it. Nothing like riding a motorcycle through the mountains!
